Serving as a library of amazing discoveries, chilling warnings, and an array of biblical truths, Card-Carrying Christians is an ongoing personal project I update and upgrade as our design and web-building abilities develop.
As a young man, I began searching for the most important thing besides the gospel that I could help share with others. There were too many to choose from, and I realized that I could not be an expert on so many important subjects. So, I decided to do one small thing I already knew how to do for each important subject: make a business card! This led me to develop the Card-Carrying Christians Collection which includes over 50 cards and web pages each on different subjects with more in the works!
Our cards are available only at my home church with much development needed for automation expansion. Currently, physical cards and flyers are bought and replaced as they are distributed and we can afford to restock. Developing cards in InDesign was a tedious process, but now we have developed a card template in Adobe Express that allows us to make and remake cards in minutes rather than hours! A complete overhaul of the website is in development. I am glad for this season of obscurity so the library, my design ability, and my presentation style can develop.
The progress of this collection is best illustrated in the history of one business card.
The Still Alive Card
Dinosaurs have been a passion of mine ever since I was a child. What better gift to give a 10-ton reptilian monster than its very own business card? It almost goes without saying, but it has been my most popular card by far! It is also our oldest card by a long shot and serves as the prime example of CCC's design evolution from 2019 to the present.

October 27, 2019 | With a dinosaur borrowed from a free glyph font and a mysterious jungle background from a free stock photo site, this card echoes with the first baby steps of Card-Carrying Christians.

Until 2024, this layout with subject-specific thought provoking statements would serve as the standard for the flipside for all of our cards. There was not a lot of planning that went into it. I was feeling pretty inspired at the time.

November 1, 2020 | Thanks to the free image library available from piqsels.com, I was finally able to add a living dinosaur to the face of Still Alive!

Rethinking how I made the backs of cards, I decided to scratch the background imagery and go with a solid color sampled from the front of the card. These card backs would later serve as the inspiration for the ministry's "Repent Ye" logo which can still be seen on our website.

May 10, 2024 | This marks the dawn of a new era in the way I design thanks to the accessibility of the premium Adobe Express mobile app! This layout is planned to serve as the first of many of its kind.

Mirroring and modifying the key aspects of the previous designs and finally incorporating a QR code, this colorful and dynamic layout is planned for the back of all our business card designs moving forward.
The Still Alive Flyer
Sometimes a business card is not quite enough to tell a story that is just too good not to tell. The Partridge Creek Monster is such a story that coaxed me beyond the confines of the card to the spacious accommodations of the flyer.

Finding a free image to utilize for this project was not difficult. Piqsels.com was a highly relied upon resource before I was able to access premium Adobe stock.

June 24, 2022 | After releasing our dino into its frigid habitat swept by an arctic storm, freezing its reeking breath, and pulling gray-black bristles from it's formerly smooth green hide, the scene and the beast are brought to life!

The back of the flyer features a retelling of the story of the Partridge Creek Monster in my own words. Card-Carrying Christians was originally called Repent Ye People as seen in the provided link.
